We offer a variety of classes every day of the week including a wide variety of Spin, Yoga, Zumba, Pilates, Bodysculpt, MatBox, HIIT, Barre, and more.

Personal and Small Group Training, Private Pilates and Private Yoga instruction are all available at the Mt Tam Racquet Club. All Mt Tam Racquet Club Staff Trainers are Certified Personal Trainers and/or Certified Yoga and Pilates instructors, and many maintain multiple certifications including Spin/Cycle Instruction, Bootcamp Instruction, TRX Instruction, and others.
At your first appointment, your trainer will spend time discussing your needs and goals with you, including discussion of past injuries, current concerns, prescription medications, and any medical issues. After your intake you will be given a professional assessment, which will serve as the basis for your workout program.
1 Hour Private: $90
1/2 Hour Private: $60
Small Group Training, Private and small group Yoga and Pilates Instruction, and private aqua sessions for post-physical therapy all available.

Zumba Gold fuses Latin and pop-based rhythms and easy-to-follow choreography for a dance-based cardio workout. Class may include drumming, use of free weights or other props, a warm-up and cool-down section, and structured beats to keep you in the Low Intensity/Steady State level of exertion (ideally, working between 50% to 70% of your max heart rate, in levels 1 and 2, or the grey and blue levels of the Heart Rate Training Zones).
Zumba is a fun, fast-paced, and energetic cardio workout. Playlists and dance styles vary in every class, and include classic Latin styles, current pop and rock music and dance steps, nostalgic 50’s and 60’s hits, and more. Expect a challenging workout in the Moderate to High Intensity level of exertion (ideally, working between 70% to 90% of your max heart rate, in levels 3 and 4 or the green and orange levels of the Heart Rate Training Zones). Ditch the workout and join the party!
We offer a variety of yoga methods, as follows:
Hatha yoga focuses on breath awareness and relaxation. During class, a variety of poses moving deliberately from one to the next increases energy, strength and flexibility, balances emotions, and leads to a calmer, lighter and more centered sense of well-being. Best for students who like an energizing yet gentle class with much variety.
Meditation is one of the five principles of yoga. It is the practice by which there is constant observation of the mind and mental activity which interrupts our relaxation during the day. In this flowing class you will be focused on the breath as well as visualization. This practice encompasses both sides of yoga including the physical and the spiritual. The class is primarily devoted to a simple, energizing flow of physical poses to relax and open the body, followed by a relaxation period (Sivasana) and a period for meditation. Experience clarity and peace through movement.
Yoga Flow is a flowing practice that connects breath and movement. Breath is used as the instrument of opening as well as firming the body. Fluency of movement in transition between the postures or poses is key, and provides both intent and release, pose and counter-pose. Flow provides a friendly and challenging environment for students to explore breathing, physicality, and flexibility as well as a chance to unwind and release.
Members with pre-existing health conditions must have a physician's approval before using the club.
Children under the age of 14 are not permitted in the gym area.
Shirt and shoes are required in the gym area at all times.
Dumbbells, weight plates, stretching pads, etc. should be put away by the member using them.
There is a 30-minute time limit on all cardiovascular machines unless there is no one waiting.
Anyone performing multiple sets on any resistance equipment (Cybex machines, bench press, Smith machine, etc.) must allow others to "work in"while they are resting between sets.
Abuse of MTRC equipment (slamming weights up & down on Cybex machines, dropping dumbbells on floor, etc.) will not be tolerated.
Members are to keep the plyo-balls away from the treadmills to avoid having them pulled under the moving belt.
No stretching is allowed in the free weight area ... stretching should be done in the multi-purpose room.
